Rover, Rover, are you in there?
Come on out I've got some news for you of a party!
(Rover burst out of the bag looking round)
I thought that would bring you out! (Rover whispers)
Where is the party? (Rover nods)
I didn't say that there was a party on here, right now
(Rover looks down and sad)
Aww, sorry if that is a disappointment, (Rover nods), but I have some news of a celebration coming up soon (Rover looks excited again)
Well Rover, You know there are lots of reasons why we have parties and celebrations
(Rover nods and whispers)
Yes. That's right we have them for birthdays (Rover whispers)
Yes and when you've done something good, you don't have many of them do you Rover
(Rover shakes his head sadly, then whispers again)
Yes, and when you have achieved something, like passing you puppy training
(Rover whispers) That was a long time ago, yes it was. Can you remember any of it?
(Rover shakes his head) No, I thought not.
What else do we celebrate? (Rover whispers)
Yes, we celebrate anniversaries. Now, do you know the really big anniversary that is coming up soon?
(Rover confidently nods that he does and whispers it to you)
That's right. It is the Queens Diamond Jubilee celebrating that she has been Queen for 60 years. How did you know that? (Rover whispers)
You were talking to her Majesties Corgies! (Rover nods)
What! I mean! How? (Rover whispers)
They are on Facebook!
So you were chatting to them (Rover nods and whispers)
And they were telling you all about the arrangements for a really big party!
I don't suppose we are invited are we? (Rover sniggers then whispers)
No, we are not invited (Rover whispers again then laughs)
But you are! (Rover nods)
Dare I ask how you managed to get an invite (Rover whispers)
The Corgies! (Rover whispers) but you can take a friend with you! You mean I could go with you to Buckingham Palace?
(Rover looks shocked and shakes his head then whispers)
No I can't go, as you have already invited Scruff to go with you. Well thank you very much!
(Rover whispers)
You have already got your bag packed! Can I have a look?
(Rover nods then holds the bag in his mouth)
Take out the party popper from the bag
WOW, you are planning on it being some celebration aren't you!
(Rover nods)
Is that all you are taking? (Rover nods and whispers)
The Corgies are providing the bones!
You know Rover, there are going to be lots and lots of really big parties celebrating the Diamond Jubilee this year. At Easter Christians celebrated the love God has for us through what Jesus did on the cross
(Rover nods and whispers)
What should we do? Well Rover, these celebrations are great opportunities for Christians to share their faith and introduce people to Jesus in the communities where people live and the churches are
(Rover nods and whispers very excitedly)
That's right, even though these celebrations are going to be really great they are nothing compared to the celebration in Heaven when people accept Jesus as their saviour and friend. So let's join in, reach out and make a difference where we are (Rover whispers)
You think you had better go and pack another party popper! You go and do that
(Rover disappears into his bag)
